Board Directors - Open Positions
Business Blue Mountains is seeking to appoint four new directors to its voluntary, working Board.
This is a fantastic opportunity for passionate and outcome driven people to make a significant and lasting impact on the business community in the mountains.
About the role(s)
The Board is responsible for the strategic direction, governance and day-to-day operations of Business Blue Mountains. Its Board of Directors ensures that Business Blue Mountains is meeting all its legal, financial and ethical obligations.
As a Director you will have a positive obligation to:
- Act with reasonable care and diligence;
- Act honestly and fairly in the best interests of the company;
- Not misuse your position or information you gain as a Director;
- Disclose actual or potential conflicts of interest;
- Ensure that the financial affairs of the company are managed responsibly; and
- Not allow the company to operate while it is insolvent.
All Board positions are held on a voluntary basis and are unpaid. The level of commitment required will average between 5 and 10 hours per month.
Successful applicants will have expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Strategy and business planning
- Stakeholder engagement
- Government relations
- Economic development
- Business resilience and recovery
- Fundraising and grant applications
- Financial management
- Marketing, communications and/or public relations
- Governance
Motivated people of diverse backgrounds, experience and ages are encouraged to apply.
Prior formal board experience is not essential. We encourage both local business people and professionals seeking to develop their board experience to apply.
About Business Blue Mountains
Business Blue Mountains is a non-profit representative body that advocates on behalf of Blue Mountains businesses and provides services to help local businesses thrive. We work in collaboration with the local and state business chamber networks, Blue Mountains Tourism and Blue Mountains City Council.
